Disk Duplication

DDI SETUPWe provide disk imaging and cloning services (complete duplication of hard drives and flash drives – sector by sector).

We use several hardware Imagers to provide the following services for IT companies or private users:

  1. Fastest hardware Disk Imaging/Cloning – sector by sector copy of healthy large capacity disks, we own the fastest Imager on the market(7GB/min) . Suitable for cases when a fast clone is required for large capacity drives. Also for cases when RAID array drives need to be duplicated.
  2. Faulty Disk Imaging/Cloning – sector by sector copy of damaged disks with bad sectors. We own top of the range imagers for faulty drives. If the hard drive can be recognized in BIOS but stays set to ‘busy’ when reading data it probably has many bad sectors. Imaging a faulty drive can take a long time depending on the amount of bad sectors and the size of the drive.

What is Disk Image/Clone?

DFLA disk image is a single file or storage device containing the complete contents and structure representing a data storage medium or device, such as a hard drive, USB Flash drive and Memory Card. A disk image is usually created by creating a complete sector-by-sector copy of the source medium and thereby perfectly replicating the structure and contents of a storage device.

Disk cloning is the process of copying the contents of one computer hard disk to another disk or to an “image” file. Often, the contents of the first disk are written to an image file as an intermediate step, and the second disk is loaded with the contents of the image. This procedure is also useful when moving to a larger capacity disk or to restore the disk to a previous state.
