Data recovery for flash products is executed using the same model as in hard drive data recovery:

1. Device restoration – fix physical faults.
2. Device image – image the data into a healthy new device.
3. Data recovery – recover the data from the healthy image.

Data Recovery:

1. Firmware/Tables corruption – we use specialized hardware tools to fix or emulate the firmware and extract a healthy image, then we run specialized algorithms to extract the data.
2. Bad connections – we fix/re-solder the bad connections or replace them if required, in phase two we extract a healthy image, then we are running specialized algorithms to extract the data.
3. Failing PCB (printed circuit board) – we extract the flash chip/chips and using specialized hardware we emulate the controller. For the second phase we extract a healthy image, then we run specialized algorithms to extract the data.
4. Physical Damage – in this case we apply the same treatment as described in #2 or #3, depends on the damage.
5. Accidental Format/Files Deletion – in this case the physical media is not faulty. First we create an image, then we run specialized algorithms on the raw image to reconstruct the lost data/files from the raw image.

Sometimes, faults #1-#3 will require a donor flash device for replacement of parts.
